One of our top live music venues, Future Yard in Birkenhead, is set to host a series of pop-up vaccination clinics in an effort to encourage more younger people to get fully vaccinated.

Two sessions have been lined up in January - today and 19 January, from 5-9pm, where music-lovers aged 16+ can get their 1st, 2nd or booster jab. No appointments are necessary.

Craig Pennington, co-founder of Future Yard said: "Live music venues have been hit incredibly hard by COVID-19, so we're trying to make it easy for music-lovers to do what they can to stop the spread. We've done everything we can to protect our community throughout the pandemic, for example investing in ventilation systems and this is just another way we can help in the fight against the virus. People can drop in and get their jab, no reservations are needed."

Future Yard is a 300-capacity community venue in Birkenhead that stages shows from exciting national and international artists, to emerging local musicians. Melt Yourself Down, BC Camplight and JP Cooper are just a few of the acts who will be playing at Future Yard in 2022.

Wirral's Director of Public Health Julie Webster said: 'By taking pop-up clinics to different kinds of places, we're making it even more convenient for people to get vaccinated. We've seen them in all sorts of venues, including football stadiums and cathedrals, and it's fantastic that we're able to provide one at Future Yard, which is right in the heart of Birkenhead and has a great local following.'

Future Yard is based at 75 Argyle Street, a short walk from Hamilton Square and Birkenhead Central railway stations, as well as Birkenhead bus station.

The pop-up vaccination clinic will return to Future Yard in February and March, on dates to be confirmed.
