Heswall FC: the Reserves pick up a much needed point which could easily have been three

Our First Team had no game this week to afford us time to install a new manager after former gaffer Neil Young stepped down a week ago today.
We have since appointed Neil Sharpe as our new manager and wish him well as we look to get our season up and running. Sharpey will be assisted by Aaron Baird.
Our Reserves travelled to local rivals Neston Nomads with us sitting bottom of the league and the Nomads flying in second place.
In awful conditions we got off to the worst possible start going 1-0 down inside 30 seconds. I've been battling a dodgy knee for a while and was still hobbling across the carpark when the Nomads struck so I didn't see the goal.
The game was pretty level after that with both teams looking to score - plenty of chances were created and missed.
We got back into the game when Dan O'Halloran struck with a well taken goal to deservedly level the scores - but equality didn't last long.
Poor defending from us allowed Nomads to go ahead and settle down with increasing confidence they would take the points, but we showed some steel and sub Harry Huggins drew us level again after good work down our right hand side gave him a chance which he smashed home into the top corner.
The highlight of the afternoon soon followed when Sam Sutton Jeffs went on a mazy run beating four Nomads defenders before belting the ball home for a cracking goal which put us ahead for the first time.
Maybe thinking the game was done we failed to shut up shop and a woeful clearance left the ball heading towards our goal and the Nomads forward beat the keeper to it to nod home and bring the Neston lads level again.
In the final seconds, Sam Sutton Jeffs went through on goal and tried too hard to score a worldy instead of smashing it home.
The final score of 3-3 was on paper a good point, but we were disappointed not to take all three.
Our First Team goes to FC Bootle on Friday night and the Reserves welcome Chester Nomads Reserves to a six pointer at Gayton Park on Saturday, the day on which we will also announce the new sponsor of the Heswall FC clubhouse.
We are always delighted to welcome supporters old and new, so if you have the time to cheer on the Yellows - and enjoy Heswall FC's hospitality and facilities - we would love to see you.
