Our First Team travelled to Ellesmere Port sitting four points behind our hosts Ellesmere Port Town on Saturday knowing a win was an absolute must - we could be cut adrift down at the bottom if we lost.

The lads responded really well and were at it from the start, closing down all over the pitch, working hard and battling for each other to get a result.

And what a result we got with goals from Brendan Doherty, Travis O'Brien, two from young Tom Haynes, who is starting to show his class, and a brilliant four goal haul from Kieran Hughes who was on fire.

An 8 - 0 away win and a massive moment for our season. While we enjoyed the result we know there are plenty more tough games to come. and we are not out of trouble yet by any means - but that result was needed and well deserved.

Match Sponsor for the day was The Little Flooring Company, with showrooms in Irby Village and West Kirby. They are a specialist flooring Wirral company that supplies and fits anything from stunning carpets to wet rooms. Many thanks to them for their brilliant and generous support.

Our Reserve Team continued to struggle and a 2 – 1 reverse at home to Capenhurst Villa Reserves was the latest setback. A solitary goal from Zach Phillips gave us some hope, but another frustrating performance brought defeat.

The First Team is under the spotlight this week as they travel to Marine to face their U23 team on Friday night, a tough game at a cracking venue - we are looking forward to the game with optimism.

On Saturday the Reserves are also on the road, taking the short trip to West Kirby to face their Reserves. Kick off is at 2pm.

We would like to offer our sincere gratitude to former Manager Neil Young and his lovely wife Suzy. Despite stepping down as Manager recently, Neil and Suzy have continued to support the club, raising our profile and bringing in vital funds. We are eternally grateful for their amazing kindness and support.

With the World Cup coming up and a break in the domestic football programme, it seems a good time to invite you all along to Gayton Park to watch a local game and get involved with our club. The bar is always open for you to enjoy a drink and make a day of it.

We look forward to welcoming all new and returning visitors.
