Pensby High School hit by ghastly fungal infection - but don't worry, it's all make believe for Halloween

Tired of going to the theatre and just sitting and watching a play?

Can you be tempted by immersive theatre in which you and your fellow audience members have roles?

Just by being there?

Then Off the Ground Theatre's Halloween production of HOST might be just the ticket.

Set in Pensby High School, imagined to have been abandoned following the outbreak of a catastrophic contagion, HOST places audience members right in the thick of the drama.

Cleverly, the action happens in school buildings that are no longer in use, so there's a brimful of atmosphere before things even get going.

Off the Ground's Connor Wray said: "This will be the scariest event of the Halloween season. It's an immersive, walkthrough horror experience certain to get pulses racing.

"When a select group of people receive a strange message from a survivor of the recent Zygomycosis outbreak, they are summoned to the apparently empty school buildings.

"Once they are inside, all is not as it seems. Our group of survivors will quickly realise they will need to use all their wits if they are to make it through the night and help those who are infected and still inside the school.

"Audiences will have a set of missions they need to carry out. What lurks inside the corridors and classrooms, however, is contagious and dangerous.

"Don't get too close to the spores. Don't let the Hosts touch you. If you come face to face with one of them…RUN!"

"This show will be staged multiple times per night. Tickets are available by pre-booking only, as audience numbers are limited to small groups for each showing to ensure a maximum intensity experience."

YIKES!

Note: you have to be 16 or over to experience HOST, which will welcome scare seekers on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October.

Shows start at 5.30pm, 7pm and 8.30pm and tickets cost £15.00.

They can be booked at the Off the Ground website by clicking or tapping here.

Be afraid. Be very afraid...

Incidentally, as we reported a couple of weeks ago, Off the Ground has spaces for young cast and crew interested in learning about theatre on stage and backstage.
