Job of the Week: HR and Payroll Administrator With Wirral Chamber of Commerce


Main purpose of job: You will be responsible for completing weekly and monthly payrolls for the various companies within Wirral Chamber group including payroll for the Kickstart scheme.
This will be a hybrid position involving responsibilities across payroll and HR including processing of new starters, contracts, annual leave, recruitment and general HR administration.
Type of contract: Permanent
Salary: £25,000 pro rata
Hours: 25 hours per week over five working days Monday – Friday; hours to be agreed with line manager.
- All round administration of weekly and monthly payroll processing
- Liaising with the Kickstart team to ensure accurate payroll processing for Kickstart placements, including the allocation of salary reimbursements from DWP- The accurate processing of new starters, leavers, contract variations, annual leave and absences – ensuring these are reflected accurately via payroll and that HR contracts and relevant information is completed in a timely manner
- Coordination of the recruitment and onboarding process including the drafting of job descriptions, advertising job roles and involvement in the interview process- Accurate recording of overtime/furlough payments in line with instructions from Heads of Service
- Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect the current employee base, including wages, benefits, sickness and holiday entitlement in line with contracts.- Act as the first point of contact for all internal queries relating to everyday payroll via telephone and email and any HMRC payroll queries.
- Producing Payroll and other contract variation letters and deal with everyday payroll correspondence.- General liaison with accountants who process the payroll.
- Calculating and processing statutory payments and all adjustments - holidays, absences, unpaid leave and adhoc deductions.- Administer all benefits, maternity, paternity, parental leave, flexible working within the agreed timescales and to a high level of accuracy, ensuring all applicable legal requirements are adhered to.
- Running ad hoc reports and data for the Finance Manager and CEO.- Performance of other duties that are applicable and required from time to time
