NEW! Heswall Nub Voice - we very much want to hear from you...

If you're reading this you'll know that Heswall Nub News is a 'hyperlocal' service which aims to deliver engaging news and views of the town and its district.

We also wish to be a forum for discussion about the present and future of this part of the world, and to enable this we've created Heswall Nub Voice.

We want to tap the brains of you, our readers, and also invite you to suggest topics on which we should focus. If this is of interest, you can sign up in just a couple of minutes by clicking or tapping here.

Towns like West Kirby and Hoylake have canvassed residents about what they would like to improve where they live through organisations like Hoylake Vision and One West Kirby.

Heswall Nub Voice can play a similar role, especially now as we emerge from the pandemic and start to get to grips with its aftermath.

We are looking for people who care about Heswall and district and are willing to share their opinions on the local and national issues that affect everyone who lives here.

These might include: public transport; parking; the future of our high street; the environment; local schooling; attracting visitors; provision for children and young people (could we turn the abandoned Heswall police station into a hub that serves older folk by day, and younger people in the evenings, at weekends, and during the holidays?); dealing with our ageing population; the green belt; and so on.

If you volunteer to become part of Heswall Nub Voice, you can expect us to contact you every fortnight or so asking for your opinions.

We won't swamp you with lots of questions - just a few prompts requiring anything from a simple YES/NO answer, to maybe a paragraph or two. It's up to you.

Your views will be included anonymously in features providing up to the minute snapshots of local points of view.

Please click or tap here if you'd like to take part - we want the widest possible range of views, from young adults to our more senior citizens - so we can give our community a place where it can express itself topically and honestly.

In September last year, the government launched a 'levelling up' task force charged with reducing regional inequalities.

For decades there has been much talk of narrowing the UK's North-South divide, and sadly it remains an important ambition. Even if in only a small way, we want to contribute by amplifying voices in towns and areas like ours, and making it clear that small communities must be listened to.

So, if you feel you have a spare few minutes every now and again to share opinions and ideas, please sign up here for Heswall Nub Voice.

We look forward to hearing from you - now and in the future.

Many thanks, and all good wishes.
