This attractive house is on the market with Move Residential and has an asking price of £765,000.

Lapwing Rise is a gated community on Gayton Road, Lower Heswall, a development of 16 detached homes and townhouses built on the site of what was once the Victoria Hotel.

For many years the mock Tudor Vic was a popular watering hole and live entertainment venue, but, despite some rousing country and western nights, the business proved unsustainable and time had to be called.

When the Vic had been levelled and plans for Lapwing Rise were revealed there was some muttering locally about its gated community aspect - just who would the residents of the new homes be trying to keep out? It wasn't as if Heswall was being submerged by a crime wave.

But if you like privacy and security then there is something to be said for solid gates whose opening and closing you control.

Tree lined Gayton Road has much going for it. Leave Lapwing Rise and turn right and you're only a couple of minutes drive from the Devon Doorway roundabout and routes to Liverpool and Chester; turn left and you have a two minute walk down to Heswall Lower village and its shops and services.

Heswall town centre is close by, as is the shore, along with Heswall Golf Club and two good primary schools, Gayton and St Peter's.

In a nutshell, this is how Move Residential describes the house.

"Immaculately presented and updated to an exceptional standard throughout with a wealth of high quality finishings such as oak flooring and doors, and Bose surround sound systems. This versatile accommodation is appointed with a modern, fresh and neutral decor throughout, and flooded with an abundance of natural light.

"There is a welcoming hallway, a 25 ft bay fronted lounge with feature Chesney fireplace and remote controlled living flame gas fire.

"Snug/TV room, study with high quality fitted furniture and a downstairs W.C. To the rear of the property you have a stunning open plan kitchen/dining room, bespoke kitchen by designer Keller complete with a range of wall base units, three motorised units, granite worktops, and a range of high quality integrated appliances.

"You also have access to a large dining room, utility room and a conservatory with delightful views over the garden.

"To the first floor you have a large landing perfect for a study or reading area, an impressive master suite with walk-in dressing room with a comprehensive range of fitted furniture and four piece en suite. There is a second double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and ensuite shower room, and two further double bedrooms with wardrobe space and a family bathroom suite by Roca.

"Outside there is a large block paved driveway leading to a double garage and the attractive property frontage which has a range of well established mature trees and borders.

"To the rear of the property is a generous sized, private garden with sweeping lawn, patio area, various planting beds and mature trees."
