Property of the Week: extended, renovated Cherry Cottage on Wallrake, Lower Heswall

There's something a bit Grand Designs about this not quite finished home now on the market with Hewitt Adams - who have invited offers of over £600,000.
You can imagine Kevin McCloud marvelling at how the architect has squeezed every last square inch of living space out of the plot of land on which it sits.
Which means, if you're looking for a home with a reasonably sized garden in need of regular tending, then Cherry Cottage is probably not for you.
On the other hand, if gardening is the last thing on your mind, and you're more interested in a brand new finish you won't need to worry about for years, then it could be just the ticket.
The old cottage that had fallen into disrepair has been replaced by something both modern and not at odds with the surroundings.
Cherry Cottage sits on the bend in Wallrake you reach as you travel downhill towards Village Road, and there are very nice properties above and on either side.
It goes without saying that a short walk leads to the shops and services of Heswall Lower Village, while, for parents of primary aged children, Gayton and St Peter's schools are also within walking distance.
In a nutshell, downstairs Cherry Cottage has an entrance hall, modern kitchen, bathroom, living room and study.
Upstairs are four bedrooms, two of which have en-suite shower rooms.
Outside at the front there's off-road parking space, and a sunken patio garden, hidden from the road behind a wall which, say Hewitt Adams, will give the new owners a private, easy to maintain front garden area.
Oh, and the reason Cherry Cottage is not quite finished? It's deliberate, because the developers are inviting potential buyers to view the property now so they can choose their own flooring and other finishing touches.
