Corinna Smith, of Highfield Road in Neston, mixed the liquid with three bags of sugar leaving Michael Baines with 36 per cent burns to his body.

Charges for car parks in towns including New Brighton, West Kirby and Bromborough, which are currently free, are set to be introduced after a crunch meeting last night.

One of two kayakers who got into serious difficulties on Saturday afternoon in the Dee Estuary off the Caldy coast has died.
