New six-a-side league seeks teams to play at Pensby High

By Mark Gorton 29th Jul 2021

Following the spectacular implosion of The European Super League, here's news of a smaller scale and much less controversial football affair for our part of the world.

A new six-a-side league is set to be launched on Sunday the 6th of June.

Six-a-side giants Leisure Leagues are setting up the competition at Pensby High School in Merseyside and it will happen every Sunday between 5pm and 7pm.

And the world's largest provider of six-a-side football is offering kits worth £90 to every member of teams that sign up.

As part of a campaign to make the new competition as accessible as possible, Leisure Leagues is offering kits for the whole team - AND the £25 team entry fee will be paid for life.

Eight spots will be available to begin with, along with the option to add another league depending on popularity.

The weekly team fee is £30.00

Organiser Dan Beddard says: "The aim is to promote positive physical and mental wellbeing post lockdown and get people active again.

"Pensby High has great facilities, and all anyone needs to do is get together with a few mates and form a team, then enter online in two minutes.

Then, on the day of the game, one member of the team pays the match fee online, and then everyone arrives in plenty of time for the game.

You'll be greeted when you get to Pensby High, and you'll play in a league with qualified referees and all equipment provided."
