Sports and showbusiness personalities are backing the #wecreateexperiences campaign

Local events are the experiences we are most looking forward to when government restrictions are lifted, according to a new opinion poll.

The finding comes from a survey of more than 2,000 consumers for #wecreateexperiences, a campaign launched today by One Industry One Voice, a group representing the UK's events industry.

COVID-19 stats update: reasons for optimism as restrictions ease

Coronavirus is continuing to decline in Wirral, amid a more uncertain picture for the rest of the region.

In the week up to March 25, 86 COVID-19 cases were registered in Wirral at a rate of 27 per 100,000, down from 92 cases at 28 per 100,000 in last week's numbers.

Emergency services were called to the Lever Causeway at about 11.20am where it was reported a black VW Golf had been in collision with a tree.

A Conservative Heswall councillor has clashed with political rivals over comments made in a meeting earlier this week.

During a break at Monday night's meeting of Wirral Council, members discussed Labour's Make Misogyny a Hate Crime motion, which called on Merseyside Police to record the harassment of women and girls as a hate crime.

Merseyside Police collected £175,000 last year recovering crashed or stolen cars

Recently Merseyside Police warned of the rise of keyless car crime

Victims of car theft and crashes had to pay a total of £175,000 in "administration fees" to Merseyside Police to get their vehicles back over the past year.

Figures released under the Freedom of Information Act show the force recovered 11,582 vehicles last year, including cars that had been stolen, illegally parked or involved in a crash.
