The outdoor area of the Dee View Inn on Dee View Road has been damaged by fire.

Firefighters were called to the popular pub in the early hours of this morning, not long before 3am.

In the pub car park they discovered a van ablaze, and that the flames had spread to the decking and fencing surrounding the pub's beer garden, which was a great addition to the Dee View's offering made not that long ago.

It took two fire engines just three minutes to reach the incident, whereupon the fire was quickly extinguished, though firefighters remained on the scene until just after five this morning.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was undertaken - it is believed to have started accidentally.
