Porcelli's in Heswall Lower Village has a new name and new look
People beavering away at all hours during the last few days have given popular Porcelli's cafe in Heswall Lower Village a pleasing makeover.
A new name and new look will be revealed to customers tomorrow when the eatery's working week begins.
So, as the name 'Porcelli's' slips away into history, please welcome the Copper Leaf Cafe Bar.
The cafe, at 21 Village Road, is an important part of community life, small but perfectly formed, handy during tighter restrictions if you wanted to take food and drink away, and now offering socially distanced table service so you can while away some chillout time inside.
It's also dog friendly.
The power behind the place is Sarah Porcelli, who said: "I just thought now was the time to give the cafe a freshening up, try something a little bit new, and over the past months I've had plenty of time to think about it!
"So here we are with a new exterior, new signage and a new interior, though otherwise not much has changed including important things like the high quality of our food and drinks and our customer service."
The makeover has brought a spark of something new to Village Road, where it's always good to see independent businesses like the Copper Leaf striving to protect the future of Lower Village life.
Only one drawback - as of today the letter F in the word CAFE above the shop's window has gone AWOL.
"I'm not sure," said Sarah, "if someone forgot to bring it, or if it's underneath something in the cafe where we're still getting ready for tomorrow. I'm sure it will turn up one way or the other."
Good luck to the Copper Cafe, which is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 9am to 4pm.
