Have you say on activity, health and wellbeing and help shape Wirral's leisure policies

By Mark Gorton 29th Jul 2021

Residents are being invited to have their say on what it means to be active in Wirral, to help shape the council's leisure services in the future.

For the next six weeks, local people are being asked to tell Wirral Leisure what services and activities they would like to see available across the borough. Questions will also ask about what stops people from being active, including access issues and what support could be offered to help them get involved.

While one of the aims of the survey is to help shape leisure services, it is also about finding out how residents like to be active – be it by walking the dog, gardening or taking in part in sports.

Cllr Helen Cameron, Chair of the Tourism, Communities, Culture & Leisure Committee at Wirral Council, said: "Whether you like playing sport, going for a run with a friend, or gardening at your allotment, being active can mean something different to everyone. Wirral Leisure wants your feedback and ideas to help make activity accessible to all.

"This is a great opportunity for residents to share experiences and ideas about what sports and activities they most enjoy, what Wirral Leisure could offer in the future and what support they may need to become more active."

Community groups, organisations and current or previous partners of the council are similarly invited to have their say on what activities they would like to see and/ or help deliver.

The consultation will end at midnight on Monday 19 July 2021.
