A new funding scheme for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic has launched today.
More than £1.6m is available for Wirral businesses under the new Trading On Scheme which is designed to specifically support small and medium sized organisations with between 10 to 249 employees which have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
The Trading On Scheme will see a total of £8.1m given to businesses across the Liverpool City Region through allocations which have been made available to each of its six local authorities.
It is the latest round of funding awarded by the Government as part of the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) which has already seen £44m successfully distributed to more than 4,000 businesses across the region.
It is expected that the full amount will be awarded through this scheme and there will be no further ARG funding.
Wirral has received a one-off allocation of £1,686,687.94.
The application portal opened this morning. It will close for applications at 5pm on 12 November 2021.
