Coming up: what's on in Heswall and district over the next few days

It's hard to understand why youngsters are fascinated by dinosaurs and children as young as two can cope with five syllable words like 'velociraptor' as easily as they say 'juice'.

But if you have a dino obsessed child in your life then Heswall Hall could be the place to go on Sunday.

Teach Rex is bringing its new velociraptor show to the Hall, using life-like dinosaurs to help children understand "the anatomy and life of one the most mesmerising creatures to have ever roamed our planet.

"The show is teamed with effects, music and gives children and their families the chance to get up close and personal with these fantastic, realistic beasts.

"The educational part of the show runs for approximately 45 minutes followed by a dinosaur meet and greet when families can get photographs next to the beasts whilst enjoying a dance."

Sounds fun.

Teach Rex is an educational company formed by two local primary school teachers, Joe Parsonage from Heswall, and Sam Bryan from Hoylake.

If you can't make the show on December the 5th, there's another at Heswall Hall a week later on Sunday on the 12th.

You can book tickets by clicking or tapping here.

Everton seem to be in freefall at the moment and took a 1-4 beating from Liverpool last night at Goodison Park, but that won't - we hope - impact on the football fun to be had at Linghams bookstore on Saturday at 11am when goalkeeping legend Neville Southall and other top Toffee writers will be signing copies of their books. As far as grassroots football is concerned, Heswall FC Firsts take on Newton at Gayton Park on Saturday. Kick-off is at 2pm. Says the club: "It's a return to league action this weekend as we hope to continue our excellent run of form. The bar will be open and all support is welcome."

Back to Heswall Hall, where Heswall Musical Society presents "A Dickens of a Christmas" on Friday December the 10th at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee the following day starting at 2.30pm.

As you can see, it's described as "a traditional Christmas show with a bit of a twist", the cost of admission is £10 (concessions £8) and you can find out more by viewing our What's On listing for the event by clicking or tapping here.

Here at Heswall Nub News we're very keen to promote events in the town and surrounding area, so please consider listing yours for free on our site.

Have an image and a few words ready, click or tap What's On, and then hit the Nub It button. It only takes a few minutes and will help us spread the word for you.
