There are two events of note at Heswall Hall this weekend.

On Saturday, between 9.30am and 4pm, a one day exhibition of work by 13 local artists means you can take a break from shopping and celebrate the district’s creativity.

A wide range of works will be offered for sale, so you may spot the perfect gift or something that will add colour and interest to your home in time for Christmas.

The following day, starting at 11am until 3pm, the Hall will be given over to ‘A Taste of Christmas’.

Says Stephen Atherton of the Heswall and District Business Association, which organises the annual event: “It’s designed to showcase the treats Heswall has to offer. The event is in aid of our ‘Light Up Heswall’ campaign, raising money to put the sparkle back into the town over the festive period.

“You'll be amazed at what last minute ideas and gifts you can pick up on the day. There's always something for everyone and plenty to choose from.

"So, why not treat yourself to a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie or maybe even try something tasty from one of the food and drink stalls and plenty more whilst you browse at your leisure.

“We can't wait to welcome you back to this year's event!

A vote of thanks to Heswall Hall, which has made the venue available for this event free of charge as a donation to ‘Light Up Heswall’.

On the football front, Heswall FC's First Team is at home to Newton at Gayton Park. Kick-off at 2pm. "The Yellows are back at home this weekend and back in cup action. It’s a tough one but we go into the fixture in good form and hoping to cause an upset."
