Earlier today we published a piece about listed buildings in Heswall and Gayton.
If you'd like to live in Thornton Hough you can now own one by buying North Lodge.
It was built in 1894 and is Grade II listed. This means it is of 'special interest, warranting every efford to preserve it' - so there'll be restrictions on what you can do in terms of alterations and refurbishment, but then again it looks pretty good as it is.
North Lodge is in the heart of the village, and originally part of the Leverhulme Estate; there's no chain; the asking price is £750,000; and it's on the market with estate agency Hewitt Adams of Pensby Road, Heswall.
It goes without saying that Thornton Hough is a pleasant semi-rural village, handily placed between Neston and Heswall, and close to Parkgate. The surrounding land is green belt, and the village primary school has an excellent reputation, and has been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted.
Says Hewitt Adams: "This home has enormous character, and is set in private grounds with views across open fields.
"Features of note include the gabled front porch, the attractive timber cladding, the dormers, casement and mullioned windows, together with the established and mature grounds. On the cusp of the centre of the village, this property is a rare find.
"In brief the accommodation affords: entrance, lounge, dining room, kitchen, downstairs W.C, ground-floor bedroom or further sitting room.
"Upstairs there are three further bedrooms and a main bathroom.
"There's a large rear private garden which is beautifully landscaped with lawns, mature flower-beds and hedging, together with a private courtyard."
