A house's location is the first consideration for many home buyers, and there's a lot to be said for living in Thornton Hough.

It may be just five minutes' drive from Heswall and its shops, amenities and busy Telegraph Road, but Thornton Hough has a genuinely rural sense of natural space, while the village itself and its spacious green has a timeless air.

On the market with Hunters Heswall, this semi-detached bungalow could be yours if you offer over £280,000.

However, the two bedroom home comes with a couple of caveats.

First, it needs some work. This won't put off anyone who actually prefers starting off with as blank a canvas as possible in order to create absolutely the right decor; but it could deter anyone looking for a house move involving as little pain as possible.

Second, Hunters are at pains to point out that they are not aware if "local authority consents were ever needed, sought or obtained with regard to the first floor conversion of this property."

Which means this - even though the specification of the bungalow describes it as 'two bedroom', on its first floor - what was the loft - are two further rooms, one of which, at around 15 feet by 10 feet, is certainly large enough to be a third bedroom; while the other room, at around 10 feet by 7 feet, could be a decent sized box room or home office.

There's a shower room on this floor, too, so in effect it could be said this house isn't a bungalow at all.

On the ground floor are the hall, kitchen, lounge, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

Outside, there are gardens front and back, and a driveway that leads to a sizeable garage.

All in all, this is a home with potential on a quiet road in an attractive part of Wirral. The bungalow is part of an estate completely surrounded by farmland, and just a short walk to the picturesque Thornton Hough village.
