Wirral's COVID numbers are rising at pace, with a recent surge in infections ramping up pressure on hospitals.

The most recent figures we have show cases are up by 38%, with 3,027 infections registered in the week up to March 20.

Five people - three men and two women - arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was discovered outside a house on Smallridge Close, Pensby, have now been released with no further action.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at around 4am, where the man was pronounced dead.
