Heswall Reserves v Sutton Athletic

With our First Team having a day off this weekend, it was all eyes on our Reserves as we welcomed Champions Elect Sutton Athletic - knowing that if they took three points they would claim the Third Division title.

While we wished them well, at the same time nobody wanted to see another club celebrate at Gayton Park, so the lads were fired up to try and spoil the party.

Wallasey Town Hall, where Wirral Council meets in normal times

Last night's crucial meeting of Wirral Council unanimously passed a draft Local Plan, which will see the greenbelt protected in its entirety with the building of around 13,000 homes between now and 2037 to be focused around brownfield sites in the east of the borough, particularly in and around Birkenhead.

Yesterday's vote does not mean it will come in immediately however, as it still faces a number of hurdles including a six-week public consultation and a review by the government which could take as long as 12 months.
