With a total of £250,000 available from the borough's 'Social Sector Setting Road to Recovery Fund', a minimum of 50 local community groups are set to benefit from the new scheme.

Wirral's COVID infection rate has plummeted once again in great news for the borough as more shops and services reopen today.
In the week up to April 8, there were 33 cases in Wirral at a rate of 10 per 100,000.

My hopes for a three win weekend for Heswall FC were dashed on Saturday as our three West Cheshire teams suffered defeat.
The First Team was up against runaway league leaders FC Bootle St Edmunds at Gayton Park, going down 1–0 in a tough game.
Wirral Council's elections take place on May 6 this year, with a huge amount to play for.
If Labour win just a couple more seats they will take back majority control of the council, but a bad night could see the party lose seats and Cllr Janette Williamson's leadership of the authority put under threat.
