The quest for that elusive three win Saturday was brought to a glorious end yesterday by - guess what? - a three win Saturday as Heswall FC's adult teams went goal crazy.

Our First Team travelled to Marine Reserves looking to keep pace in the race for promotion.

A season best performance delivered a resounding and astounding 7–1 victory, with goals coming from Joe Ford and Paul Lindfield with a brace apiece, topped by a fine hat-trick from Jack Darlington.

The win keeps us fourth in the table with a game in hand over those above us.

There's still lots to do, but recent performances have been good and the strikers are hitting form at the right time as we push to get back into the First Division where we belong.

The Reserves were in cup action against near neighbours Neston Nomads Reserves in the league Shield.

Having prevailed last month in the Wirral Amateur Cup, we were looking to make it a double. Goals from Robbie Williams 2, Dan O'Halloran 2, Jamie Steele and Kieran Donoghue gave us a convincing 6–1 win.

The cup competitions are a nice distraction from league matters and give the lads a great chance to challenge for honours.

Our Youth came out victorious in a fractious game away to Knowsley South, goals from Connor Wolfe, Matthew Walsh and Ben Davies giving us a great win, 3-2.

The game was marred by what I will politely describe as some very unsatisfactory conduct from our opponents, and we will be keeping an eye on the outcome of inquiries by the league.

Full credit goes to our players who managed the situation extremely well in the face of such behaviour.

The next games come at us quickly now, with both the First Team and Reserves in action on Tuesday evening against Maghull Reserves and Sutton Athletic respectively, while our Youth team travel to Runcorn Town on Wednesday.

As a club we were keen to pay our respects to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh with a minute's silence on Saturday. All teams involved observed this impeccably.
