Young man dies following Heswall car and motorcycle collision - police continue to appeal for information

Merseyside Police has confirmed that the motorcyclist involved in a collision with a car in Heswall yesterday has died as a result of his injuries.

At around 10.15am police received a report of the collision involving a silver Toyota Auris car and a red Honda motorcycle at the junction of Chester Road and Gayton Lane.

Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he later tragically passed away.

The young man's next of kin have been informed.

The male driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries and is assisting police with enquiries.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
