Trick or Treat just gone, Bonfire Night on its way, while tomorrow is the first of a two day opportunity to indulge in a little early Christmas shopping at the Wirral Bazaar, an event which does so much to support North West Cancer Research.
Is there no end to seasonal fun?
Had to laugh last night while having supper at our son's house.
A small skeleton rang the doorbell and asked for a full breakdown of the ingredients in the chocolate biscuity treat on offer to make sure it did not contain nuts. Perfectly sensible, of course, but kind of time consuming when your meal is going cold.
Anyway, the Bazaar kicks off tomorrow in the Walled Garden Marquee at Thornton Manor. Doors are open from 2pm until 8.30pm, and the price of admission is £5.
On the following day, Wednesday, the hours are 9.30am until 3pm.
Refreshments and free parking are available.
The entry fee and profits from the catering go directly to NWCR. So simply by going along and meeting friends for coffee and cake visitors will make a great contribution.
The Bazaar team describes the event as follows: "With an exciting collection of over 60 handpicked stalls offering a wonderful variety of unique and beautiful Christmas gifts, as well as festive entertainment, it's the perfect start to Christmas all under one roof."
The Wirral Bazaar started almost 30 years ago, when a group of friends decided they wanted to join in the fight against cancer.
Today, the Wirral Bazaar Committee is made up of a small but dedicated group of volunteers who work throughout the year to organise one of Wirral's most successful annual fundraisers.
The Committee is also supported by a huge and loyal group of friends, who over the years have given up their time to help – be it on the admission and raffle desks; serving teas, coffees and cakes; standing in the cold helping with the parking, or just spreading the word.
The result is a feel good event which raises tens of thousands of pounds to combat a disease that touches so many of us.
So if you have some time tomorrow or Wednesday and fancy browsing through potential gifts you might not always see on the high street or online - while chipping in to a great cause at the same time - head down to Thornton Manor.
