The candidates trying to secure your vote on May 6th

By Mark Gorton 29th Jul 2021

Wirral Council's elections take place on May 6 this year, with a huge amount to play for.

If Labour win just a couple more seats they will take back majority control of the council, but a bad night could see the party lose seats and Cllr Janette Williamson's leadership of the authority put under threat.

Parties are campaigning hard on their credentials for delivering regeneration projects in the east of the borough, protecting the greenbelt and tackling climate change, among other key themes.

Here's who you can vote for in each of Wirral's 22 electoral wards in less than four weeks' time.
