Something fishy about Fridays at the Johnny Pye starting this week

Earlier this year West Kirby welcomed a brand new fishmongers, Seafood Shack, the brainchild of former What's Cooking restaurant chain owner, Guy Lawrenson.

Starting this Friday, between the hours of 8am and 12 noon, Heswall shoppers can enjoy a similar - but more outdoor - experience thanks to Matthew Clark and his mobile fishmonger business, Ocean Wave of Cheshire.

The venue is the Johnny Pye pub, which recently opened up its beer garden to the delight of many.

Matthew says: "Each morning we hand pick the finest catch of fresh fish and seafood and head over to towns and villages in Cheshire and elsewhere to allow people the opportunity to purchase really fresh fish.

"Having spoken with the lovely Vicky at the Johnny Pye we're delighted to have been able to add Heswall to the list of towns we're able to cover.

"So as of this Friday, if you fancy the best of the best catches of fresh fish and seafood, you can CATCH us outside the Johnny Pye!

"All the fish we sell is never frozen, we prepare your orders to your exact requirements, and we can take card payments if people are worrying they might need to bring cash.

"I'm really looking forward to meeting some new customers on Friday between 8 and 12, and hope that we'll be visiting Heswall for a long time to come."

Well, fish and Fridays have been connected for a couple of millennia, which is an encouraging sign for Matthew, and if you'd like to be in right at the start of a new tradition, head for the Johnny 'Fish' Pye on Friday morning and find out what's on offer.
