Silk Road on Telegraph Road celebrates its fourth birthday this weekend, and will take the opportunity to mark the occasion by expressing gratitude to the local community for all the support the business has received during lockdown.
The festivities begin on Sunday morning with breakfast for families.
There'll be a children's character to entertain young ones, face painting and a colouring competition.
At lunch time the Silk Road giant paella will be cooked on the terrace, and early evening will see live music and special offers on drinks.
Anyone who would like to join the party is advised to book early to reserve their table.
All weekend the restaurant will also be running a raffle offering great prizes, with all proceeds going to the Claire House Children's Hospice.
During lockdown Silk Road launched a take away service. It turned out to be a lifeline for the restaurant. No jobs were lost and the business rode the COVID-19 storm.
Nevertheless, it was a difficult time for owners Chris Williams and Javier Mellado.
Chris said: "Since we opened Silk Road we've really enjoyed becoming part of the community in Heswall. Although the pandemic has been tough on us all, one positive to come out of it was to see how people supported each other, and we are really grateful that local people used our takeaway service – it really did help keep the business afloat.
"Our celebration on Sunday is just a small way to show how thankful we are."
Javier Mellado said: "Heswall is a great community and we are delighted to be a part of it. We have built up a very loyal customer base and a lot of people have become our friends – we look forward to continuing to serve this community for many years to come."
