The retail unit at 176 Telegraph Road formerly occupied by Iceland Foods is currently being fitted out to welcome customers into the new flagship showroom of Rigo Spa. Rigo Spa is the Wallasey based provider of all manner of saunas, steam rooms, spas and pools - as well as snow caves if you fancy just, er, chilling - and has been in business for 13 years. Owner and managing director, Tom Coan, explained the decision to open a store in Heswall: "It's a fantastic and vibrant place with a great community feel. That's why we chose the town as the location for our head office and showroom. "We design, manufacture and install bespoke pools, tiled spas, luxury garden hot tubs, swim spas, saunas and steam rooms, and the company has won several industry awards. We'll be offering swimming pools, tiled spas, stainless steel spas, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, pool chemicals, pool accessories, and luxury tiles. "We take any project, large or small, from conception to completion and manage carefully every single step along the way." As the refurbishment and fitting work continues, it's nice to see a space vacated not so long ago being readied so quickly for a new business.But here we are, still anxious about the pandemic and confused by Brexit uncertainty. Did Tom have any doubts about the timing of its new venture? He said: "We're already an established business that has been operating from Wallasey for the past five years. Our manufacturing facility will stay there, although the move to a new showroom was planned before the pandemic hit. Our largest residential and commercial projects sometimes span 18 to 24 months, so this gives us future safety due to the scale of them. "We hope we can get the backing of the local community as we dive into this venture in such strange times. Like everyone else, we're looking forward to the return of something like normality, and very excited about welcoming local residents to a shop we hope and believe will add something special to Heswall." Rigo Spa is scheduled to open towards the end of January next year.
