Yesterday marked the UK's 103rd Remembrance Day, with silences, services, and parades being observed up and down the country.
Heswall Hall hosted the Forget-Me-Not Wartime walk-in experience, an interactive, sing-a-long exhibition that aims to recreate the sights and sounds of a WW2 concert.
The event was hosted by Lilli Moore, an award-winning vintage performer from the Wirral. An eclectic and adaptable artist, Lilli has frequented a variety of events and venues, which has included cruise ships, veteran functions, war memorials, and residential and care homes.
Alongside Lilli, the event showcased dancers, performers, and singers who worked hard on bringing the event to life. The line up also included an engaging performance of a wartime radio show, which featured some audience participation.
The second half of the performance featured the CH21/17 Home Guard, a troupe of home guard reenactors and history enthusiasts.
Dave Harrison, a member of the CH21/17 Home Guard, said of the event: "Events like these are so important to keep people informed and keep it in the public eye.
"I've been doing this for quite a few years. My role in the home guard is with the GPO. They were a special group in the guard, with their roles essentially being communication and patrols."
Alongside the performance part of the event, there was a second room that housed a variety of artefacts from the 30s and 40s, along with informative posters and diagrams. The displays included ration books and food, replicas of items used by the home guard, a variety of soldiers' uniforms, and vintage wartime posters.
While the turn out wasn't massive, it did little to dampen the mood or vibe, and the performers continued to give it their all.
The atmosphere was one of nostalgia, with the attendees praising the range and calibre of the performances.
"The whole event was lovely," said Joan Haskayen, an audience member. "From the singers to the dancers, everything was just done so well."
For those that missed the event yesterday, there are still tickets left for the remaining show this Sunday which can be purchased in advance by clicking or tapping here.
There will be two sessions, 1.00pm to 2.30pm and 2.30pm to 4.00pm.
