Yes, we're open again!

It's been a difficult year for everyone, and here at Pensby Sports Centre we are pleased to say it's back to business as usual – well almost!

Your local community sports centre is now being managed by 3d leisure. 3d has worked in the leisure industry for 30 years and manages over 100 facilities nationwide, with the aim of offering a wide range of fantastic facilities to the local community.

There's a new team in place: me, Trudi Harris, the new Manager; Paul Murray; Paul Tuck; and a fourth member of staff will be joining us soon.

We are all from the Pensby and Heswall district, and between us have many years experience within the leisure, sports and community service sectors.

All of us are really keen to make sure the great facilities right on your doorsteps at Pensby Sports Centre are used as much as possible by men, women and children in the area.

I've been busy in the sports, leisure and community sector all my working life. I'm passionate about what I do and I'm keen to develop this facility to offer a broad range of services that support the needs of the community. Yes, we're a sports centre, but the facilities we have here allow us to offer space for a wider range of community activities – a meeting hub for clubs, organisations, children's parties, and so on.

We're all living with the challenges caused by COVID but, as restrictions begin to ease, we can begin to get back to some sort of normality, albeit with a heightened awareness of our collective responsibility to stay COVID secure: Hands, Face, Space and Fresh Air!

Staying healthy requires both physical and mental stimulation. Playing sport is a great way to achieve that.

Right now we can only re-open our outdoor sports facilities – the multi-user games area, 3G and grass pitches. But, we're delighted to say we've got off to a flying start, with over 70% of those regular users having already rebooked - that's enabling a lot of the local community to stay healthy.

Why not join them in making the most of the Centre? It's good for you, the district, and Pensby High School!

Our indoor facilities start re-opening Monday, April 12th for children's sporting activities.

From May 17th we'll be fully open – the drama and dance studios, gymnasium, sports hall, and a whole host of meeting rooms from classrooms to conference and theatre facilities.
