This is the third year that the event has been held and cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to take part and enjoy the tree-lined, traffic-free, tracks of the Leverhulme Estate in Brimstage.

The event organisers are called Rethink Now, and the Summer Cycle happens between 10am and 4pm on the 25th.

The leisure bike ride will include the opportunity to sample the delights of various independent stallholders located on the cycle route as well as outlets at Brimstage Hall & Courtyard.

Adding to the atmosphere will be PopVox Choir, who are sponsored by The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, Paul McCartney's Theatre School. PopVox is one the most professional amateur pop choirs in the UK.

There'll be music to enjoy

Also appearing will be Little Lamb Tales, run by Jude Lennon, a Liverpool-based author and professional storyteller. Jude, who is also the current Disney Winnie the Pooh Laureate for the North West, will be running Builder Book den building sessions where children and families can create dens with soft building bricks.

Just Riding Along & Energise Cycles will be coming along to do the Dr Bike sessions and various independent businesses will be on hand to provide refreshments, including The Chocolate Cellar and Hyacinth Vintage Ice-Cream.

Last year, hundreds of cyclists, from toddlers to octogenarians, got on their bikes to explore over four miles of tracks, while others chose to walk the paths which extend from Brimstage to neighbouring Thornton Hough.

Why not try a bit of three wheeling?

Ed Lamb, one of the founders of Rethink Now, which campaigns for stronger, healthier communities through environmental sustainability, said: "We are looking forward to bringing the Leverhulme Summer Cycle to the Wirral for a third year.

"It is a free, family-friendly cycle which encourages people to get out on their bikes in a traffic-free environment. It is always a lovely event.

"We have lots of stalls and activities, including a number of independent food retailers and a vintage ice-cream van, and it's a great opportunity for family and friends to spend time together outdoors."
