Oh brave new world that has such people in it…

From June 20th to 25th Hillbark Players will be doing their thing in a 500-seat open air theatre in the woods in Royden Park to stage The Tempest by William Shakespeare.

You will be able to enjoy a summer evening - and maybe a picnic and a glass of wine - as the players entertain you with arguably one of Shakespeare's most finely crafted plays.

Hillbark Players is the company which has brought you open-air Shakespeare on the Wirral since 1964 and is rightfully proud of its history of supporting the arts in Wirral.

The Tempest is one of Shakespeare's late plays written toward the end of his life. It features a wonderful combination of comedy, tragedy, fantasy and, of course, romance! Hillbark Players will sprinkle their own magic and deliver some of the finest performers in the region, undercover seating and theatre quality sound and lighting.

Additionally, Hillbark Players has always been keen to invest in Shakespeare education and involve local schools in productions. In recent years they company has sold out its midweek schools' matinée for children from 10 to 18.

Hillbark Players says: "We are looking forward to welcoming our loyal patrons back to Royden Park to support local theatre springing back to life!

Help us, and help Wirral get theatre back to where it should be!"
