Heswall’s new Spoons won’t be pulling pints until the end of next month at the earliest
Judging by photos taken this afternoon, it's no surprise that the opening date of Heswall's new Wetherspoon pub has been pushed back.
The site remains a hive of construction activity.
Originally scheduled to unveil its wonders this month, the Prense Well, as the Spoons will be known, is now set to open on June 28.

A single storey side and rear extension are being added to the existing premises, last occupied by The Exchange. The proposal also includes internal alterations and additional beer garden areas.
For Wetherspoon the Prense Well represents a potential two million pound investment, and the company says it will create 50 jobs. The new design was drawn up by Manchester firm, Just H Architects.
Extending the property will increase internal space from 650 square metres to 900 and thus make greater use of the available land. This includes room for a large kitchen which assumes high demand for the Wetherspoon food offer.
Other proposals to make the building easier on the eye include seating beneath a timber canopy, site-wide paving, and raised flower beds.
When asked, "Why Heswall?" a spokesperson for Wetherspoon said: "We've enjoyed great success with pubs in the region and are always keen to open in areas where Wetherspoon is currently not located.
"The hospitality industry is the heartbeat of society."
Well, the new pub has set pulses racing at both ends of the social media opinion spectrum: on the one hand, there are some who fear noise and ant-social high jinks - and on the other, those who believe the Spoons will allow them to welcome a cheaper Heswall pint.
