After receiving hundreds of entries, over 75 schools and colleges from the Liverpool City Region, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire have been named in this year's Educate Awards shortlist.
And on that shortlist is Heswall Primary School.
The awards showcase the work of schools and colleges which are delivering outstanding education and helping students achieve their full potential.
With over 21 categories, the shortlist recognises inspiring teachers, dedicated support staff and leadership teams.
Heswall Primary joins two other schools and a college vying for the Outstanding Commitment to STEM award.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths - clearly important because so many future jobs will require expertise in these areas.
The awards ceremony will take place at Liverpool Cathedral on Friday 19 November, itself, like all great buildings, a STEM triumph.
This year marks the Educate Awards' tenth anniversary, and revelation of the winners is set to feel special after 2020's ceremony was held virtually due to the pandemic.
Kim O'Brien, founder of the Educate Awards, said: "A huge well done to the schools and colleges who have made this year's shortlist.
"After a difficult 18 or so months, it is extremely important that we recognise the amazing schools and colleges which have supported students, families, staff and the wider communities during the pandemic. The calibre of entries was absolutely incredible and deciding on the shortlist was a really difficult process."
Congratulations to Heswall Primary, a school with a commitment not only to STEM, but also to the environment, with a keen understanding of how children can be encouraged to cherish and protect it.
We wish them success on November 19.
