Her Majesty the Queen paid a surprise visit to Heswall Primary School today, though the eagle eyed and highly trained reporters of Heswall Nub News are concerned she was affected by her recently reported 'mobility issues'.
She did look a little bit stationary.
And a bit stiff.
But this didn't stop the school enjoying a day of Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Pupils from 2 to 11 years old and all the school's staff and governors took part, and enjoyed being photographed with our 70 year monarch.
The children shared a Jubilee lunch together and a commemorative plum tree was planted by the youngest and oldest children in the school to mark the occasion.
Headteacher Jon Lawrenson said, 'It's been a fantastic day that we've all shared together. All of the children wore red, white and blue, sang Jubilee songs in assembly and completed Jubilee activities throughout this special day.
"The school cooks, Claire and Belinda, made special lunch boxes for all of the children, and we even had corgi biscuits and cupcakes with crowns on them."
Sweet.
In more ways than one.
