Small businesses in Heswall Lower Village have launched a petition asking Wirral Council to provide traffic calming measures on Village Road and impose a 20mph speed limit. Earlier this year, calming was deployed not far away on Gayton Road on the Gayton Primary stretch which caters for many school run cars in the morning and mid-afternoon. The petitioners are appealing to "all of the local residents that live in or around Lower Heswall village" to lend their support by signing. The group has printed petitions which are ready to sign in the following businesses: - Jenesis Hair Salon

- The Lower Village Garage

- The Sewing Room

- Zero's hair salon

- Poppies Cleaning Service

- Copper Leaf Cafe

- Lifestyle Boutique 31

- Crush

If you're sympathetic to this proposal, why not pop into one of the above and sign up?

Speaking of petitions, Heswall Nub News' online petition stating that Heswall needs a direct rail connection with Liverpool has attracted almost 500 signatures.
