Heswall Hall to undergo major investment programme

By Mark Gorton   29th Jul 2021

Heswall Hall has unveiled a major refurbishment project aimed at making it one of the leading entertainment venues in Wirral.

Work is now underway on a state of the art upgrade of its sound and lighting system.

And the aim is that the Hall will be back in business from June 21.

Due to COVID restrictions the venue has been closed now for a year, but trustees have used that time to rethink and reshape the Heswall Hall business model to ensure its resilience for decades to come.

"The heart of Heswall Hall has always been our community activities and we're really looking forward to welcoming back our regular clubs and societies and re-establishing our community favourites like the cinemas, tea dances and our preschool playgroup," said Chair of the Trustees, Jenny Stock.

"But we're very conscious that we need to look to the future too. By forming partnerships with local businesses like Blind Pig and investing in a new sound and lighting system we believe we can offer a wonderful venue for the whole community and bring much needed business into the town.

"We know it will make all the difference for events such as weddings and parties as well as our regular users including our local amateur dramatic groups, choirs and concerts."

In 2011 Heswall Hall became the first Community Hall in Wirral to be transferred from local authority control to that of a Community Trust.

A decade later, it is an entirely self-funding - and sorely missed - focal point where young and old from the Heswall district can gather for all manner of reasons.

But now, preparations are well underway for the doors of the hall to reopen once again on June 21 in line with government advice.
