The first phase of the re-establishment of Heswall Hall is complete, trustees have announced.

The much loved community asset was forced to close for months during the pandemic.

But the closure was also an opportunity for the Board - all volunteers - to review the business model for the hall as well as refresh its offering.

Now, with a new state of the art sound and light system in place, fresh new decor and an evolving programme of events, Heswall Hall is marking the end of the first phase of its new lease of life.

"The major programme of works is about to be signed off with the contractor - a real watershed moment," explained Chair of the Trustees Karen Griffith.

"We are thrilled with how well our new vision has been received. We are busier than ever with community events as well as functions and parties. And the Big Room with its big stage concerts and regular comedy club is going from strength to strength.

"It's wonderful to be back where we belong - at the heart of Heswall."

The hall hosts a growing variety of community orientated clubs, classes and events from yoga to ballroom dancing, cinema afternoons and evenings and playgroups.

It is also a live music and entertainment hot spot with everything from jazz club to rock, tribute acts, comedy and quizzes.

"And of course we get a lot of people who want to celebrate with us, whether that's a wedding, Christening or birthday party," explains Karen.

"We have some exciting plans for the coming months too, particularly around the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

"Heswall is a vibrant community full of people with great ideas - we're loving the fact we're at the centre of all that."
