Since the beginning of February Charlotte Clark, Emma Shaw, Amèlie Buzzard, Mariam Tahir and Anaika Anup have been participating in the Wings of Hope Award which aims to raise money to help fund underprivileged children's education in India by organising a range of events.

The group got off to a bang by hosting a "Waffle Wednesday" at lunchtime where they served warm waffles for other students with a variety of toppings from Nutella to marshmallows and practically everything in-between to choose from!

Then on Sunday 3rd April, three members from the team - Charlotte Clark, Emma Shaw and Amèlie Buzzard - walked the Three Peaks of Yorkshire as part of a sponsored walk. They were blessed with good weather and with great views; being able to see the Lake District hills from the top of Inglebrough!

On completion they had very big hot chocolates - mandatory of course.

On the return to school they then hosted a "Staff Got Talent" with different members of staff showcasing their skills - a challenging but rewarding event to organise, where they also sold refreshments and drinks.

As one of their final events they took part in the Easter Fair for their school making a range of baked goods including brownies and truffles.

The group said it has been extremely rewarding to see all their hard work pay off and they hope to progress to the semi-finals of the events. They would really appreciate any donations you can spare - no matter the size - to help their cause with the link here:
