"But my message to people who have not had their jabs is that it's not too late! "Your vaccinations are waiting for you - and as we head into thebusyfestive period, it is more important than ever that you claim them. "First and second doses are really important and will protect you well from most variants of the virus – such as Delta, which is still circulating in Wirral. "Getting all 3 doses will give you the best protection from becoming seriously unwell if you catchCOVID-19. "The sooner you start your course of vaccinations, the sooner youand your familyare protected. With the additional walk-in clinics popping up this week in Wirral, there is no reason to wait. "Like all medicines, the COVID-19 vaccines can cause side effects. However, any side effects are usually mild and only last a day or two, and the benefit of having the booster for you, your family and your friends is huge. Getting boosted is our best defense and hope of protecting people against the new Omicron variant."
