Five people - three men and two women - arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was discovered outside a house on Smallridge Close, Pensby, have now been released with no further action.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at around 4am, where the man was pronounced dead.

Merseyside Police say that three men aged 23, 25 and 30, and two 20 year-old women were arrested on suspicion of murder, but have now been released and no further action will be taken.

The dead man's next of kin have been informed, and a post-mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of his death.

The police investigation continues.
