According to the United Nations, as many as 660,000 people have sought to flee Ukraine following the massive invasion by Russian forces which began just six days ago.

Governments, charities and aid agencies have scrambled to provide food and shelter for the growing number of people looking to escape the war. A couple of days ago, the queue to cross the border between Ukraine and Poland was said to be 25 miles long.

Donors and volunteer groups from home and around the world are playing their parts too, responding generously to the calls for help from the government of Ukraine and the people.

Revolution 4, a digital marketing company based in Heswall, has decided to use their building, the Whitfield Business Hub, as a drop off point for donations of important items.

These are:

Colouring pencils

Teddies

Colouring books

School supplies

Blankets

Soaps, shampoos, shower gels etc

Towels

Sanitary towels

Nappies

Sleeping bags

Toothbrushes

Kids' clothes (new or like new condition)

First aid kits, plasters, bandages etc

Revolution 4 director Nik Ellis says: "As individuals and as a collective we've been horrified by the scenes in Ukraine over the last week. As a company which works with businesses strongly connected with Ukraine our hearts go out to not only them but also all Ukrainian citizens.

"It's incredible to see all of the amazing fundraising and donating happening across the UK, so to help we decided to set up a drop-off point at Whitfield Business Hub for important items.

"Tragically, many of the items on the Ukrainians' wish lists are to do with children. If you can help, then please come along."

If you would like to contribute to this collection, the address is Whitfield Business Hub, 200 Pensby Road, Wirral CH60 7RJ.

Donations will be taken regularly to a depot in Chester, one of several operated in the North West by the Polish-British Solidarity with Ukraine initiative.
