Detectives investigating a car theft in Heswall last month have released images of a man they want to trace.

It was reported that a grey Mercedes was stolen on Barnston Road between 11.30pm on Wednesday 17 February and 6.30am on Thursday 18 February.

The car was later recovered by police in the Newsham Park area of Liverpool.

Officers have now issued images of a man, captured from two different CCTV cameras, whom they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

If you recognise the man pictured or have any further information, please contact Merseyside Police @MerPolCC on Twitter - or 'Merseyside Police Contact Centre' on Facebook with crime reference 21000105879.

Information can also be passed on via 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and online by clicking or tapping here.

Advice on preventing vehicle theft can be found on the force website here.
