Bebington man among two charged with the death of an eight year old boy in Ashton-Under-Lyne

Two men have been charged with the death of an eight year old boy in Tameside.

Kevin Jones, of Gorseyville Crescent, Bebington, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death whilst unlicensed, and causing death whilst uninsured.

Thomas McGrath, of Gorton Road, Stockport, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Both men are due to attend Tameside Magistrates court on Thursday 15 April.

Police were called at around 8:15pm on Thursday 23rd July last year following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Ryecroft Street in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

An eight year old boy suffered fatal injuries and was identified as Safiullah Latif Asif from Ashton-Under-Lyne.
