Diesel locomotives will soon have to be a thing of the past

Recently we've asked if the local community can do something to save and repurpose the abandoned Heswall police station - and if the very dismal Heswall railway station could also be given a new lease of life by making it possible to travel direct between the town and Liverpool.

Thanks to everyone who responded on social media, where it became plain that a fair few people would like a direct service - and not to hang out in a station that feels like it belongs in a spooky movie about the supernatural.

The Robins family

There are a fair few boats down at Heswall shore near Sheldrakes, and some of them appear to have been left to their own devices.

One of them, a little further out, may not automatically catch the eye as being exceptional, but it is - and it belongs to Wrexham couple Simon and Gemma Robins, and is far from abandoned.
