What to watch

Film

Licorice Pizza Starring Alana Haim (yes, Haim. As in, pop-rock band HAIM) and Cooper Hoffman, Licorice Pizza follows Alana and Gary as they grow up and fall in love, with 1970s San Fernando Valley as their backdrop. Funny, heartfelt, and capturing that whimsical coming-of-age feeling when you felt you could be anyone you wanted to be, this film is a feel-good nostalgic trip. The film has received critical acclaim, receiving awards from the National Board of Review, which included Best Film, as well as receiving four nominations at the 79th Golden Globe Awards and eight nominations at the 27th Critics' Choice Awards. The American Film Institute also marked it as one of the best films to come out of 2021. But don't just take it from overwhelming popular public and critical opinion, go see it for yourself. It seems you'll have to go over the water to see it though - the movie is being screened by Picturehouse at FACT Liverpool, the Everyman cinema and the Odeon Liverpool One. TV Friday The Hairy Bikers Go North

BBC Two | 19:00

The UK's beloved, rough-around-the-edges duo continue their culinary tour of the North, this time stopping off in North Yorkshire. They visit the North York Moors National Park to sample some of the fantastic produce the county has to offer.

The first episode is Knights of the Road: The Highwayman's Story, an in-depth look at the fearless and vicious highwaymen who often get painted with a romanticised brush in today's media. Sunday Last Woman on Earth with Sara Pascoe

BBC Two | 21:00 - 22:00

Follow comedian Sara Pascoe as she travels the world to meet the folk keeping rare crafts and professions alive in the face of commercialisation. Have a great weekend.
