Met Office issues yellow Wirral weather warning

By Mark Gorton

29th Jul 2021 | Local News

The flag cracking heatwave is set to come to an end and be replaced by thunderstorms and very heavy showers.

The yellow warning for large swathes of England and Scotland includes our part of the world, and it lasts from 09.00 tomorrow morning, to 06.00 on Wednesday morning.

The Met Office points out that spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and possibly some road closures.

Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.

If you have to travel, take care - testing conditions are expected to develop across Wales and northern England throughout Tuesday, and in some places as much as 60mm of rain could fall in three to six hours.
